About

I figured since I've been writing this blog for about a month and a half, I should tell you all a little something about Evie and us both.

Craig and I adopted Evie from one of his friends when we were at his home for our summer break from college. I had planned on getting a kitten when I came back from his house in Houston, Texas. But, his friend's mother adopted 4 little kittens from a stray that they fed around their house. So, of course, I got excited and went over to meet them. There were two boys who were white and grey and the two girls who were calicos.

From the top: Dewey, Max, Babe, and Evie. All of the kittens were the cutest but that little one at the bottom is the one that I fell in love with almost instantly. Since they were kind of wild when I met them (I think they had only been inside for about 2 weeks - Kathryn, correct me if I'm wrong!) and Evie was the only one who would let me pick her up and lay her in my lap. Dewey scratched me and left a scar on my hand (he was sweet once he calmed down, he was just really flighty). Babe wouldn't come near me and Kathryn had already decided to keep Max. So I fell in love with Evie.

The first picture I ever got of her.

I wasn't able to bring her home right away though. Craig's Mom has two elderly cats (they're about 15 years old) and didn't want them fretting about the new kitten. So instead, I waited until about 5 days before we left to come back to West Virginia and left Evie with her brothers and sisters until I could bring her over. The older cats don't go upstairs at his house so we locked Evie in a rather large bedroom that we slept in. She relaxed almost instantly and purred and cuddled and she was happy and alright with being away from her brothers and sisters.

A very young Evie

And 5 days after that, we started on our 2 day journey back to West Virginia (which she did pretty well on). And she's been happy ever since. Well, I should say "crazy" ever since - but it's that good kitten crazy. :)

Sciene doesn't please her, either.

Prokaryotic cells? Psssshhhh....
